The planes are booked, the money stowed, the excitement rises as we begin to decide what to pack.
The trip has been at least 3 years in the planning and we are excited at the prospect of seeing many new places and spending time with close friends and finishing our trip be spending time with our desert family in Qatar.
We begin in Milan, then travel to La Spezia to spend 6 days touring the Cinque Terre and parts of Northern Italy with our friends Charlie & Zelinda. We then fly to Croatia where we meet up with the Howards (our French canal boat companions of a holiday past), the Harrisons and the Pickerings. We all then spend time in Croatia cruising the Dalmatia coast where we'll ride bikes and hopefully laze in the sun, finishing with a couple of days in Dubrovnik.
The next leg sees us live it up in the highly anticipated destination of Santorini, can't wait to see the white buildings against the blue seas and taste the dolmades and moussaka. The ferry will then take us to Crete where we spend a week touring the island. The Kellys leave the party then and head to Doha where we'll have lots of hugs and get to know our grandchildren again after a long absence.
